Rotoluxe - DIY yard crashers - TWILIGHT - NEW MOON

Rotoluxe planter:

I receive a call last night from one of the owners of rotoluxe. He has some really exciting news. First, the DIY network has purchased planters from them for their show yard crashers. The episode is supposed to air sometime in April. I will keep you posted.

Next, the film makers for NEW MOON (Twilight) is renting a bunch of the rotoluxe pieces for one of the scenes in New Moon. They are supposed to be picking them up on their way to Vancouver. How great is that?? Maybe I can get my hands on one of the rented pieces!!

That's it for now.

Why is a plant a False?

There are some plants, for instance a false aralia, that got it's name because it looks like another plant.

A grand opening is coming into view. It will probably be towards the end of the month, or the beginning of September. We will keep you posted!

Make a soothing fountain to enhance your environment

Great for the patio, or even on your porch or sun room, a bamboo fountain with a pot can add a nice touch to your surroundings! All it takes is a pot, a small pump and some water and voila, you've got yourself an instant water feature. Envy sells the pots and the bamboo fountain; however, we do not have the pumps yet. I'll be working on that in the next week.
Cheers!

Why Is It Called "Lucky" Bamboo?

Along with its ease of growth, Lucky Bamboo has long been associated with the Eastern practice of Feng Shui - or the bringing of natural elements of water, fire, earth, wood and metal into balance within the environment. Lucky Bamboo is believed to be an ideal example of the thriving wood and water element, with the addition of a red ribbon sometimes tied around the stalks - which is believed to "fire" the positive flow of energy or chi in the room.
The number of stalks also has meaning : three stalks for happiness; five stalks for wealth; six stalks for health. Four stalks, however, are always avoided since the word "four" in Chinese sounds too similar to the Chinese word for "death"!

As always, we have some great art on the walls. Currently we are host to Matthew Olds (http://www.holdstudios.com/)
